Welle:Erdball creates music for METAL DUST
The band Welle:Erdball are known for their great music and for their enthusiasm for the Commodore 64. Many sceners have seen them live on the MekkaSymposium2000

Now, the sensation is perfect: Welle:Erdball is creating exclusive music for the long awaited SuperCPU game METAL DUST.

Their pieces of sonic art will replace the re-digitized Mod music which originally was to be included in the game. More information and probably a musical preview may be available when the planned new website of Protovision goes online.
Their SuperCPU assembler "VirtualAssembler16" is also going to be released sooner than later!

For all of you who don't know about Metal Dust, it is recommended to download the trailer (MPEG) from the Protovision site.
For all those who don't know Welle:Erdball : Unfortunately, they have removed their MP3-Previews from their website, but one is still available in the start frame on The unofficial CMD Site

 JOS News and updates.

I've got my hands on a dual serial interface card thanks to Josef and Thomas at IDE64. It's much like a turbo232 except has two ports, so you can use a PC mouse with it as well. For more information email Josef or Thomas. Since it's very similar to turbo232, I should be able to change my duart driver into a turbo232 driver very easily, but I can't test it, any volunteers to test it? :)

Also there are some developments in the Disk driver side of things, with a couple of people helping me out, namely Stryyker/Onslaught and Doc Bacardi/The Dreams, who are helping me make some drivers for CMD drives. So hopefully soon, anyone will be able to give JOS a go.

There are some other changes which can be read about in the news page, and there are screenshots of the new geos font capabilities on the gui screenshot page.

Bburago Rally Jewel version released:
For all those who still enjoy playing games on the Commodore 64, there's good news: Finally there is a bug free version of Bburago Rally, the (in)famous racing game from 576KByte. Many people had problems with this game because it was not possible to buy a new car due to a bug in a cracked version.

The new version, released by DMAgic, is completely bugfixed. Next to the bug mentioned above, a stack overflow in the carshop was fixed. Furthermore, the player doesn't get the sprites of the computer car when the computer upgrades his car - a bug found in other versions due to the use of a leveldecruncher which loaded the sprite data to a fix address.

DMAgic's version also has two nice add-on's: The first is a music menu - now you can choose from 4 musics in the race instead of having always the same tune. The second is the SuperCPU ramdisk system - a SCPU with ramcard is automatically detected and used, all data once loaded will stay in ram and retrieved from there when needed, thus saving a lot of loading time.

Go to the SuperCPU home To download it.

Hires pictures wanted!

CLiPS the new upcoming Operating System for the C64 with SuperCPU, has the ability to display background pictures, as many other systems can.

 Malte Mundt writes:
"I am currently working on a background picture collection for CLiPS and I would appreciate your input! I need C64 hires pictures!"
Hires pictures means standard bitmap mode with screen ram, thus being 320x200 with 2 colors per 8x8 square. Any picture is welcome, no matter if it's from a game, a demo, converted or whatever.
Preferred format is "Doodle" (Screen at $5c00, Bitmap at $6000), but other hires formats are ok, too...
