I have seen that some
people are having problems installing
the MP3 Demo's
to there systems, and after a lot of Emails I
thought
it a good idea to put the info here.
I
am describing MP3-128 but the the 64 version is the
same
After unpacking
the Zipped D64 file(s), preferably to a
floppy,
you can then boot up Geos..
Once at the 128 DESKTOP, I would copy over the MP3 files to your Hard
Drive or RamLink, as this will speed up the installation process.
Next thing to do, is to make
sure you have the 128 DESKTOP on
the same Partition or Drive.
Click on the StartMP3-128 file and it will check your system and unpack
all the MP3 files.
Follow the on screen prompts and you will be returned to the 128
DESKTOP,
with MP3 now installed. Remember
you must have 128 DESKTOP on the same
drive/Partition Once you leave Geos128,
To Start MP3-128 again from Geos,
click on the geos128.mp3
Icon, and it will be installed.
Installing
TopDesk V3.5
This has seemed to of confused some people, but it is very simple :)
Once you are up and running with Geos or your MP3 Demo, Run the
TopDesk.
Now you have the TopDesk up, Delete the old 128 DESKTOP and Rename
TopDesk to 128 DESKTOP. Then run the renamed TopDesk (128 DESKTOP)..
And that's it!
Please
note that TopDesk V4.1 will only run in MP3 so you
can not
rename this to DESKTOP and expect it to run in normal Geos!
Try the MP3 Demo's with
TopDesk V4.1 but make sure its all on
a different
Drive/Partition than the normal DESKTOP/Geos.
Or to be sure leave the name as TopDesk, and run it after your at the
Desktop.If you have any
questions regarding MP3 or TopDesk
